Blistering heat continues to torment people in city

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal The blistering heat continued to torment people in the city even on the fourth day of Nautapa. The day temperature in the State capital crossed the mark of 45 degree Celsius in the season and recorded new high of the season with 45.3 degree Celsius on Sunday. Not only was it the hottest day so far this year, but also for the last two years as well. Last summer, the maximum temperature in May was recorded at 45.1 degrees Celsius. The night temperature in the state capital dipped slightly and was recorded at 29.4 degree Celsius. As far as the state is concerned, the highest temperature recorded was 47.2 degrees Celsius at Khajuraho. Meanwhile, Chhindwara recorded 5 mm rain. In the forecast for Tuesday, met officials said Bhopal would witness cloudy skies during the evening hours. There is also a possibility of thundery development over the city. Day and night temperatures would be 45 degrees and 29 degrees Celsius respectively and average wind speed will be 20 kmph. In the forecast for state, met officials issued a warning of heat wave in Gwalior, Sagar, Bhopal, Chambal, Satna, Rewa, Umaria, Hoshangabad, Khargone, Ratlam and Shajapur. There is a possibility of thundery development and light rain at places such as Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Guna, Hoshangabad and Betul. The forecast maintains that the temperatures in the state capital would remain in the range of 45 and 29 degree Celsius on Monday maintaining the extreme hot weather conditions. Rewa, Sagar, Shahdol, Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior and Chambal divisions as well as Hoshangabad and Khargone districts witnessed heat wave conditions. Weather conditions would not witness change except the gradual rise in the temperatures. The light rainfall and thundery activities would be witnessed in Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Morena, Hoshangabad and Betul districts in the next 24 hours. The intense heat conditions witnessed in the state would continue as warning of heat wave conditions has been issued by Met department for Gwalior, Sagar, Bhopal and Chambal divisions and Satna, Rewa, Umaria, Hoshangabad, Khargone, Ratlam and Shajapur districts.
