IAF donates Rs 20 cr to Kerala CM's Disaster Relief Fund


Thiruvananthapuram, Air Marshal B Suresh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command of Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday visited Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and handed over a cheque of Rs 20 crore in support of the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in the aftermath of the devastating flood. All officers, airmen, enrolled non-combatant and civilians of Indian Air Force across the country have donated their one-day salary to mobilise the amount contributed to the Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF) to help the flood-affected people there. As part of its continuous relief operations, RAMT (Rapid Action Medical Team) of IAF from Hindon reached Kerala on August 23 and set up their medical camps at Kuttanad in Alappuzha district. Addressing to the needs and requirements of women and children in distress, AFWWA (Air Force Wives Welfare Association) mobilised relief kits from air commands across India to distribute to various relief camps in the state.
