Bhopal, Jan 28:
Continuing its support for Rural Infrastructure Development in the State, NABARD has sanctioned Rs 95.02 crore to GOMP under RIDF-XV for construction of 22 rural bridges in 14 districts.
On completion of the project, 505 villages will be benefited by way of reduction in travelling distance by 365 km. Besides it would generate non-recurring employment for 44.93-lakh mandays during the project implementation period. The projects are to be implemented in the districts of Balaghat, Betul, Chhindwara, Damoh, Khargone, Narsinghpur, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sehore, Tikamgarh, Umaria and Vidisha.
The total RIDF sanction made by NABARD to the State since 1995-96 has reached to a cumulative figure of Rs 7295.09 crore for various irrigation, rural road, bridge, mini-hydel projects, system improvement in power sector, school buildings and health centres.
Implementation of these projects would not only provide employment in rural areas of the State but would also be helpful in removing infrastructural bottlenecks to boost the overall development of rural areas of the State.
