12 researchers of MANIT included in list of scientists around the world

  • Stanford University releases list of cited scientists

The world famous Stanford University has recently published the list of the top 2 percent most cited scientists in the world in various subjects for the year 2024. This list, released a few days ago on 17 September 2024, was prepared by a team of experts led by Professor John Ioannidis of Stanford University and published by Elsevier BV.

Considered the most prestigious worldwide, this ranking is based on bibliographic information contained in the Scopus database based on standardized citation indicators.

The 223,252 scientists listed in the top 2 percent globally represent a significant increase from 4,635 in 2023 and 3000 in 2022, reflecting India’s ever-growing influence in global research and innovation. The list of top scientists is classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields. The list also includes 12 eminent researchers from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal. Also, it is a moment to remember that some of our eminent faculty Dr Fozia Z Haque and Dr Jyoti Mittal have been listed in the top 2 percent scientists for five consecutive years.
