14 Indians rescued from cyber fraud centres in Cambodia repatriated to India

Phnom Penh/New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) Fourteen Indian nationals who were scammed into joining cyber fraud centres in Cambodia have been rescued and repatriated to India, the Indian Embassy said.

The Indian Embassy in Phonm Pehn said in a post on X:

“With the cooperation of the Cambodian police and the Indian Embassy, 14 Indian scam victims have been safely rescued and repatriated to India.

“Appreciate the efforts of @MoSVYCambodia and @caritascambodia for their compassionate care and seamless facilitation of their return. #RescueMission.”

On July 21, the Indian Embassy in Cambodia said on X that 14 Indians, who were lured into cybercrime operations in Cambodia, were rescued by law enforcement authorities following leads provided by the Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh.

The Indian Embassy said on July 20 that it has facilitated the rescue and repatriation of over 650 Indian citizens who had fallen victim to these job scams.
