18 killed in series of explosions in Nigeria

Abuja, June 30 (UNI) At least 18 people were killed and 48 others were injured in a series of explosions in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno, the Borno State Emergency Management Agency said.

“So far, casualties ascertained included 18 death bodies, comprising males, females, and children, and 48 seriously injured victims are being treated,” the agency said on social media on Saturday.

The agency added that the first explosion occurred in the midst of a wedding ceremony, and a few minutes later another explosion occurred in the main hospital of the city of Gwoza. Then, “another suicide bomber denoted a bomb,” the agency noted.
