Rajbhasha Workshop at Indira Gandhi National Museum Celebrates Mahadevi Verma’s Literary Legacy

Bhopal: The Indira Gandhi National Museum hosted a special Rajbhasha workshop at the Shailakala Auditorium, focusing on the fourth-quarter implementation of Rajbhasha. The event was held to mark the birth anniversary of the celebrated poet Mahadevi Verma, often referred to as the Meera of modern times.

The workshop highlighted Mahadevi Verma’s life and literary journey. The museum staff also recited poems from her renowned poetry collection, Deepashikha, offering a deep insight into her literary brilliance.

Museum Director, Prof. Amitabh Pandey, encouraged the staff to foster creativity in literature and emphasized its significance. Hemant Bahadur Singh Parihar, the museum’s Public Relations Officer, spoke about Mahadevi Verma’s literary and social contributions.

Key attendees, including Dr. S.K. Pandey, Dr. Sudip Rai, Dr. Shikha Tiheneguriya, Mrs. Smita Page, Dr. Mohammad Rehan, Dr. Ravindra Gupta, Mr. Dharanidhar Senapati, Mr. Lalit Bagul, Mr. Dheer Singh, and Mr. Deepak Chaudhary, remembered Mahadevi Verma’s work and read from her poetry, stressing the importance of increasing literary awareness.

The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Seema Khitolia, the museum’s Hindi translator, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Rajendra Kumar Jhariya, the in-charge Hindi officer.
