2.5 cr cash, 40 kg gold recovered in Lokayukta raid

  • Documents of benami property also seized from former constable

Government’s action against the corrupt continues in Madhya Pradesh. On Thursday (19 December), a raid was conducted at the house of a former constable close to a minister in Bhopal. Lokayukta police have found about 2.5 crore cash, 40 kg gold-silver and documents related to benami property here. Lokayukta team is currently investigating.

Saurabh Sharma is originally from Gwalior. Earlier he was a constable in the Transport Department, but after getting close to the departmental minister, he left the government job and started doing business. He has a private school in Shahpura, Bhopal. Lokayukta has raided Saurabh’s places in Arera Colony on Thursday morning.

Got compassionate appointment

Saurabh Sharma’s father was posted in the Transport Department. Saurabh got a compassionate appointment here. After working for 10 to 12 years, he took VRS. The minister with whom Saurabh is being linked is a minister in Kamal Nath, Shivraj and now Mohan government. This minister has also handled the transport department.

Saurabh Sharma also played a major role along with the ruling party leaders in the allocation of transport posts. Lokayukta has taken this action on the basis of complaints of disproportionate assets against him. Apart from Saurabh, raids have also been conducted at Chetan Gaur’s hideouts.
