3 members of Indore family drown in Narmada

Bhopal: A tragic accident happened on Wednesday in the tourist city of Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh. Three members of the same family drowned while bathing in the Narmada river here. The rescue team has taken out all three bodies and sent them for postmortem. The deceased are residents of Indore. They had come here on Wednesday.

TI Pankaj Tiwari said, 4 members of a Rajput family living near Aurobindo Hospital in Indore had come to visit Maheshwar on Wednesday. After visiting the temple, at 2 pm, they reached near Mandal-Kho to take a bath in the Narmada river. They were bathing in the Narmada river when suddenly Vikram, son of Karan Singh Rajput (18) started drowning in deep water. Seeing the son drowning, mother Urmila (44) and sister Mohini (25) jumped in to save him, but could not get out. All three died by drowning.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, SDM Anil Jain, Tehsildar Rakesh Sastiya, Police Station Incharge Pankaj Tiwari and CMO Manoj Sharma reached the spot. Divers took out the bodies of mother and daughter from the river after half an hour of hard work. While, the body of son Vikram was found after an hour.
