4 children of Indore ashram die after suspected food poisoning

Indore: Four children have died after their condition worsened due to food poisoning in a children’s ashram Yugpurush Dham. While 16 children have been admitted to Chacha Nehru Hospital for treatment. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Collector Ashish Singh reached the ashram to see the children. After this incident, there was a stir in the police and administration. The collector has immediately removed the SDM who adopted a negligent attitude in this matter.

Actually a video of the spot was going viral, in which SDM Omprakash Badkul, ashram operator Anita Sharma are seen laughing and joking with another officer. After this the collector took immediate action.

Yugpurush Dham Ashram is an ashram for mentally challenged and Divyang children. MY Hospital Superintendent Dr. Ashok Yadav said that the children had complaints of dehydration, diarrhea and vomiting. Collector Ashish Singh said that the case seems to be of food poisoning; we have formed an investigation team under the leadership of ADM and sent the team to the ashram.

Hospital authorities have said children suffering from food poisoning are continuously coming from the Yugpurush orphanage in Indore. Where 4 children have died in two days. 16 children are still undergoing treatment in the hospital, out of which the condition of three is said to be critical.
