- State Education Center issues guidelines regarding annual exams
- English study along with Hindi compulsory in ‘madrasas’

Amidst the controversy over NCERT books in Madhya Pradesh, the education department has taken a big decision. Class 5-8th board exams will be conducted as per NCERT syllabus. Along with Hindi, English will also be compulsory in government schools and ‘Madrasas’.
State Education Center PRO Amitabh Anurag said that the roster has been changed in 5-8th. The marks for annual exams have also been fixed. According to this, 20 marks will be given for the half year exam, 60 marks for final year and 20 marks for project. It will be mandatory for students to submit the project with teachers by 31 January 2025.
He said that the State Education Center has issued guidelines for the exam based on the textbooks and syllabus prescribed by NCERT.
These instructions have also been issued to all the district collectors.
4.5 lakh children will get free bicycles
The School Education Department will provide free bicycles to 4 lakh 50 thousand children of government schools under the Free Bicycle Supply Scheme in the year 2024-25. In this regard, the department has given instructions to all the District Education Officers of the state. Under the scheme, free bicycles are provided to eligible students for study facilities on first admission in class 6 and 9.
