Bhopal: On Tuesday, 500 sacks of wheat, intended for distribution among the underprivileged through government fair price shops, mysteriously vanished along with the truck in Gwalior. The revelation caused alarm in both the administration and the police force. Although CCTV cameras aided in the recovery of the empty truck, there is no trace of the whereabouts of the wheat that was initially loaded onto it.
The missing truck is owned by Ranjit Singh, a truck operator residing in Thatipur, and was driven by Ram Kumar Gurjar. Ram Kumar recounts loading approximately 500 sacks of wheat from the government warehouse in Renhat, situated in the Ghatigaon area, with the intention of distributing them to the needy through various fair price shops. According to the driver, after reaching the old cantonment area, he parked the loaded truck on the side of the road near a dhaba located on the Agra-Mumbai highway.
1 injured in detonator explosion in Ordnance Factory
A detonator explosion during the filling process at Ordnance Factory Khamaria in Jabalpur resulted in severe hand injuries for a worker on Wednesday morning. S. Gopi Nath, the employee involved, experienced a spark in the detonator, causing severe burns to his left hand. After receiving initial first aid at the factory hospital, Gopi Nath was subsequently transferred to a private hospital in the city, where his condition is now reported to be stable.
The incident occurred during the annealing of the detonator in M24 within the F1 section of building number 83 at the Ordnance Factory. Colleagues have noted that such accidents are common in the factory due to their work with gunpowder.
This incident follows a similar one in November at Ordnance Factory Khamaria, where a worker sustained injuries while filling gunpowder in grenades. The 35-year-old worker, Ravi Pawar, was promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The incident took place in building number 129 in the S9 area.
Prior to these incidents, in September, another worker named Raghunath suffered severe hand burns after a detonator exploded.
