Bhopal: Voting for the by-election for the Amarwara assembly seat of Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh ended at 6 pm with 78 percent voting. 9 candidates are in the fray for the Amarwara seat. The main contest is between BJP’s Kamlesh Shah, Congress’ Dhiren Shah and Gondwana Republic Party’s Devraven Bhalavi. During voting, there was a ruckus outside the polling booth in Amarwara’s school. There was a dispute with the security personnel over a voter’s papers. The matter was settled after talks. Now, the result of the voting will be released on July 13.
Election Commission is conducting by-election on Amarwara assembly seat which was vacated due to former Congress MLA Kamlesh Shah leaving Congress and joining BJP and resigning from the post of MLA during the Lok Sabha elections. Amarwara by-election is a big opportunity for Congress which faced shameful defeat in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
