Delhi court adjourns hearing of Satyendra Jain’s plea for transfer of his case till Sep 2

New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) A Delhi Court after hearing a request on behalf of former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain who was seeking transfer of his case to another judge, adjourned the further hearing till September 2.

Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (CBI), Rouse Avenue District Court, New Delhi Anju Bajaj Chandna after hearing request on behalf of Counsel for Jain said, ” It is made clear that no further adjournment shall be granted on any ground on the next date of hearing”.

“Put up for arguments on the present transfer petition on 02.09.2023” the Court said.

Senior Advocate Hariharan appeared on behalf of Jain requested for adjournment by stating that there is bereavement in the family and he has to attend the last rites.

Jain had moved an application under section 408 of Criminal Procedure Code(Cr.P.C.) by seeking the transfer of two cases registered against him by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to another judge.

ED had earlier moved an application to transfer the case to another Judge. Then the Principal District-cum-Sessions Judge had transferred the case from Special Judge Geetanjli Goel to Special Judge Vikas Dhull.

CBI has registered a First Information Report (FIR) for disproportionate assets against Jain in 2017. On the base of CBI’s FIR, Enforcement Directorate registered an ECIR against the former Minister and accused him of having money laundered through four companies allegedly linked to him and where he was holding shares while amassing disproportionate income.
