Gao, (UNI) A Malian military camp near an airport in the county’s eastern Gao region was attacked by a suicide bomber, the Malian armed forces reported on Friday.
“A complex suicide bomb attack has been carried out on a military camp located in Gao near the airport. Response and evaluation are in progress,” the armed forces said.
Media reported on Thursday, citing the Malian government, that a militants attack on an army base in Gao, as well as a separate attack on a passenger boat in the country’s central part, killed a total of 49 civilians and 15 soldiers.
