Narsinghpur is considered to be the most important and interesting assembly seat in the four assemblies of the district. It is being speculated that if there is a political fight between the old candidates, then there will be a close fight between the BJP and the Congress.
Talking about the last two elections of Narsinghpur Assembly, in the year 2013, BJP candidate Jalam Singh Patel won with a margin of about 48,000 whereas in the 2018 elections, the margin of victory of Jalam was only 14,800. During the 15 months rule of the Congress, Lakhan Patel solved the problems of the people by organizing a public hearing program in every town, due to which his popularity increased a lot. Now, if once again these two candidates face each other in the election field, then the contest will be very interesting and competitive.
Another contender from BJP
Apart from MLA Jalam Singh Patel, there is another name in the headlines to contest this assembly election from BJP. District President Pratigya Parihar from BJP started her political journey as a district member and now she is the District President of Kareli District. According to the discussions going on in the area, Pratigya is also going to try out the lotus sign.
Many BJP leaders have influence in Narsinghpur assembly seat. Rajya Sabha MP Kailash Soni and District General Secretary Nand Kishore Thakur also have their influence in some areas. If party sources are to be believed, everything is not going well within the party, due to which there is a strong possibility of factionalism in BJP and if this happens, then Congress will directly benefit from it.
Congress can win this seat if united
With BJP’s victory margin decreasing in the last election, local Congressmen feel that in this election the party will not only be successful in bridging the gap but will also register victory with a good margin. According to local political experts, if the old candidates try their luck again on this seat, then the matter will become very interesting and in such a situation, if the Congress builds a barricade with unity, then it will wrest this seat from the hands of BJP because Lakhan Singh Patel has worked very hard on this seat in the last 5 years, the result of which is that even before the elections, his discussions are at the crossroads, in such a situation, it seems difficult for MLA Jalam Singh Patel to maintain his dominance on this seat. The disadvantageous thing for Jalam is that his son Monu Patel, who led the biggest youth lobby of the district, is no longer in this world. Maninagendra alias Monu used to play an important role in his father’s political front. However, only a few months are left for the elections and in this time, equations have been seen changing many times in politics, apart from this, in the end, the public will decide who will be their MLA.
