Regarding the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, on one hand, BJP’s Central Election Committee, after discussing the names of possible candidates for about 50 seats, has approved the names of about 35 candidates. On the other hand, the provincial leaders of the Congress Party have approved the names of the heads of the scrutiny committee. In the second day’s meeting with the members, a list of one and two names has been prepared with consensus on about 50 seats.
If sources are to be believed, the names of some sitting MLAs have been approved in the BJP Central Election Committee meeting, while the names of about 35 candidates out of the 103 seats lost in the last assembly elections have been approved. In the selection of candidates, it has been decided to field the winning candidates on the basis of survey reports, suggestions of the Sangh and party observers as well as multi-level confidential reports of the government. Sources are saying that some of the candidates whose names have been finalized in the meeting will be announced soon.
List of names of about 150 candidates of Congress will be released soon
On the other hand, the regional stalwarts of Madhya Pradesh in the Congress showed some aggression for their favorites in the meeting on the second day. An attempt has been made to create pressure by taking sides together. Although party in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, investigation committee chief Bhanwar Jitendra Singh and state president Kamal Nath have tried to satisfy the regional stalwarts with the help of multi-level survey report, but it is discussed that many of the MLAs whose tickets are being canceled have started making pressure on senior leaders since Wednesday morning. Perhaps this is why senior party leaders have had to clarify that nothing has been finalized yet. There was a heated discussion on Wednesday in Delhi that State President Kamal Nath, refusing to bow down to the pressure of senior leaders of the state, has suggested the central leaders of the party to conduct a survey again for a particular area and take a decision after finding out the updated situation. It is believed that within a week or two there will be a meeting of the Central Election Committee and a list of names of about 150 candidates will be released. Sources are saying that in Wednesday’s meeting there was a detailed discussion on some strict criteria regarding the selection of candidates. But the stalwarts have made it clear to the central leaders of the party that cutting the tickets of some senior colleagues is not appropriate as it will send a wrong message and can have a negative impact on the neighboring assembly constituencies. However, many more meetings of the investigation committee are to be held. Therefore, the investigation work is being gradually increased.
