Selection of the candidate will decide win or loss

Saudan Singh Yadav,

Ganjbasoda (Vidisha) Candidate selection and caste equation in Ganjbasoda assembly constituency of Vidisha district will decide victory or defeat in the upcoming assembly elections. Although this area has been a stronghold of the BJP, in the last few years, there has been a change in the politics here. Now the candidate is also seen along with the caste equation. The picture of politics is changing. The selection of the candidate will decide victory or defeat.

Both BJP and Congress parties are not in a hurry to select the candidate. It remains to be seen who will be in front. In the year 2003, BJP candidate Hari Singh Raghuvanshi defeated former minister Veer Singh Raghuvanshi of Congress party by 21000 votes. In the year 2008, BJP candidate Hari Singh Raghuvanshi defeated Congress candidate Ramnarayan Tenguriya by 16 thousand 700 votes. After this, in the year 2013, Congress party’s Nishank Jain defeated BJP candidate Hari Singh Raghuvanshi by a huge margin. In the year 2018, BJP gave ticket to Leena Jain. She defeated Congress Party candidate Nishank Jain by 10 thousand 226 votes.

Long list of contenders from BJP-Congress – From Congress party, the names including former MLA Nishank Jain, former Janpad Panchayat President Prahlad Singh Raghuvanshi, former minister Veer Singh Raghuvanshi, Mayank Ram Narayan Tenguriya, Santosh Sharma, Pankaj Elia, Rajesh Maheshwari, Rajendra Singh Solanki are under discussion. On the other hand, the names of candidates from BJP’s side includes MLA Leena Jain, BJP District President Dr. Rakesh Singh Jadaun, District Panchayat President Representative Kailash Raghuvanshi, former MLA Hari Singh Raghuvanshi, former MLA Ajay Singh Raghuvanshi, former Municipality President Madhulika Agarwal, Rajesh Mathur, Rajesh Tiwari,  Mahendra Lodhi, Hari Singh Sikarwar, Govind Patel, Devendra Raghuvanshi Debu, Sonu Narwaria are in discussion and they have expressed their claim with full force.

The number of voters in Ganjbasoda assembly constituency is 2 lakh 8 thousand 803. Most of the voters in Ganjbasoda assembly constituency are from backward classes. But the politics here is dominated by Raghuvanshi community, Brahmin community and for the last 10 years, Jain community is dominating. Leaders of other communities have lagged behind due to mutual factionalism.

Unemployment is a big issue

There was only one Standard Flour and Oil Mill in Ganjbasoda in which hundreds of workers were employed. From this mill, flour, rava, oil and flour used to be supplied to the country’s military and many other things were produced in the Standard Flour and Oil Mill. This mill had a big name in Asia. But due to family disputes, this mill was closed. This led to unemployment. After this no big factory opened here due to which the unemployed migrated from here. The office of the Weights and Measures Department is closed, now people have to go to Vidisha. The office of the Energy Development Corporation is also closed. Unemployment is high here.
