- Congress gets benefit of anti-incumbency
- BJP getting benefit of having a strong organization
Chronicle Reporter, Indore
In the last phase of the election campaign, BJP is facing a serious problem of apathy among the workers. BJP and Sangh Parivar workers have never looked so indifferent towards elections. This time, despite all the efforts, the workers are not in the field with the same enthusiasm that is seen in every election. On the other hand, Congress is worried due to rebel candidates. The party expelled 39 rebel candidates from the primary membership of the party. This means that Congress is suffering loss due to rebellion on 39 seats.
The second big loss to Congress is due to differences between Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath. Otherwise, till the month of September, Congress was ahead of BJP, but all the opinion polls and ground reports conducted in October show that the lead of Congress in the state has reduced compared to the previous time. However, it is still considered a close contest between Congress and BJP. Congress is getting the maximum benefit from anti-incumbency. Whereas BJP remains in the field with the help of its strong organization. BJP is also getting additional benefits from its star campaigners. BJP has an army of speakers who can gather crowds. On the other hand, Congress’s election campaign is completely dependent on Rahul, Priyanka and Kamal Nath. As far as spokespersons and IT cell are concerned, Congress has the upper hand in this matter. Despite this, BJP’s activism is visible more on social media. Because BJP has a troll gang of Sangh Parivar which remains active throughout the year. One thing that is being seen in the election campaign is that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has a lot of public connections.
The field reality is that due to strong booth management and aggressive strategy, BJP has controlled the damage to a great extent. Otherwise, till August it seemed whether BJP would reach 100 seats or not, but now it can be said that it is a difficult task to bring BJP below 100 seats under any circumstances.
Effort to attract Vindhya region voters
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have visited the Vindhya region the most in the state recently. On Tuesday also he addressed an election meeting in Sidhi. It is obvious that BJP wants to attract the voters of Vindhya region. There are 7 districts and 30 assembly seats in this area. Of these, BJP was successful in 24 in 2018. Although BJP has been winning more seats than Congress in this region since 2003, in 2018 it got more seats than in 2013. This happened when Congress achieved more success than BJP in other areas. Party strategists believe that Vindhya region is not going to be favorable for BJP in 2023. Keeping this in view, the party is continuously focusing here.
