Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Friday recovered 72.48 pts to close at 64,904.68 on the strength of power, metals, and utilities stocks.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 30.05 points to 19,425.35.
The Sensex opened negative at 64,756.11, falling 76 points. During the day it dropped 252 points to 64,580.95, days low. In late trade, it erased earlier losses and jumped 182 pts at 65,014, days high, before closing at 64,904.68, up 72.48 pts from its previous close.
The stocks that lifted the market were utilities by 0.95 pc, power by 0.92 pc, and metal by 0.67 pc.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.33 pc and the Small Cap by 0.38 pc.
In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 11 declined.
The gainers were NTPC by 2.12 pc to Rs 242.75, Tech Mahindra by 1.27 pc to Rs 1138.25, Ultracemco by 1.05 pc to Rs 8720.30, Bajaj Finance by 0.83 pc to Rs 7445.60, and Bajaj Finserv by 0.81 pc to Rs 1595.95.
The losers were M&M by 1.86 pc to Rs 1524.20 HCL Technologies by 1.13 pc to Rs 1253.60, Titan by 0.86 pc to Rs 33256.35 and IndusInd Bank by 0.60 pc to Rs 1498.55.
