In order to prepare for the great festival of the Bhojpuri community, Chhath, to be celebrated on 19th and 20th November, officials of the community inspected the ghat at Khatlapura, the oldest Chhath ghat of the city and asked the Municipal Corporation officials to provide necessary facilities. Suggestions were given to the employees. Appropriate guidelines were given for cleanliness at the ghat, proper lighting system, changing rooms etc. During the ghat inspection, MIC member of Municipal Corporation Ravindra Yeti, Devi Shankar Shukla and Vinod Singh of Patron Board of Bhojpuri Samaj were present. Local councilor Pappu Vilas Ghadge along with Rajeshwar Singh, Rameshwar Singh, Pankaj Jaiswal said that special care will be taken to ensure that Chhath fasting people do not face any inconvenience. President of Bhojpuri Utsav Committee Khatlapura, Rahul Dubey said that cultural events will also be organized on the day of Chhath Puja. It will be held in which famous Bhojpuri singer Gitanjali Raj and singer Kalpanath Yadav will come to Bhopal from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and present the hymns of Chhath Maiya. Treasurer of the committee Ram Pratap Singh said that all the committee members are actively engaged in the preparation of Chhath Mahotsav. As it is known that thousands of families perform Chhath Puja at Khatlapura Ghat. This information was given by Committee Secretary Pankaj Thakur.
Cleanliness campaign started in Saraswati Temple, Chhath Ghat
Chhath Puja, the great festival of folk faith, was started from Nahay Khay on Friday, 17th November.
For the convenience of the devotees, preparations are being made continuously for a month by the workers at Saraswati Temple, Chhath Ghat. In this sequence, senior officials of the Municipal Corporation reached the place of worship to inspect the preparations and instructed the concerned officials for the arrangements. To prepare for the great festival of Chhath, Chhath Ghat cleanliness campaign was conducted on a large scale in Saraswati Temple premises, E Sector, Barkheda by the Chhath devotees with the help of Municipal Corporation. Keeping the sanctity of the Surya Kunds and courtyards intact for Chhath Puja, the biggest festival of cleanliness and purity, by the workers of Chhath Puja Organizing Committee, a cleanliness campaign was run for four hours for the convenience of the devotees and devotees of Chhath, in which mainly the Chhath Kunds and courtyards were cleaned up.
