Raj Assembly poll 2023: Cong releases manifesto

Jaipur, Nov 21 (UNI) With just four days to go for the November 25 Assembly election in Rajasthan, the Congress on Tuesday released its manifesto.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasara, Assembly Speaker C P Joshi and several other Congress leaders released the manifesto.

In its manifesto, the Congress promised to provide government jobs to four lakh youths, besides providing employment to 10 lakh youths.

Similarly, the manifesto promised to bring a minimum support price (MSP) law for farmers as per the recommendations of the Swaminathan Committee, increase the amount of Chiranjeevi insurance from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh and create a new cadre of government jobs at the panchayat level.

These apart, it promised to conduct a caste census and give gas cylinders available for Rs 500 for Rs 400, bring the RTE Act in the state to make education up to 12th standard free in private educational institutions, increase the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) and Indira Gandhi Urban Employment from 125 to 150 days.

In its announcement, the Congress announced the launch of merchant credit card scheme to provide interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh to small traders and shopkeepers, fourth pay scale series with 9, 18, 27 to government employees and apex scale to officers, connect villages and hamlets with a population of up to 100, instal security guards in every village and urban ward and bring the Right to Housing Act.

The manifesto also promised that the ongoing schemes will be further strengthened.

The Congress released its manifesto just four days before the coming assembly election in the state.
