Bhopal, The rains that started in late November continue in December also. On Friday, rain was recorded in many districts including the capital Bhopal. Due to this, the temperature has also dropped, due to which the cold has increased. The Meteorological Department has also issued a rain alert at many places on Saturday.
Since November 27, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and other divisions have experienced frequent rainfall. Meteorologists attribute this to the current activity of Western Disturbance, cyclones, and a trough line in the state, leading to the formation of a robust rain system.
State will continue to witness rain
According to Ashfaq Hussain, a scientist at the Indian Meteorological Department in Bhopal, the state will continue to witness cloudy skies and light rain until December 9. Moreover, temperatures in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, and other regions are expected to further decrease in the second half of the month
Indore saw a break from fog on Friday, waking up to a bright sun. Although the city experienced relief from fog for two days, there are still chances of rain. The Meteorological Department predicts light to moderate rain in some parts of the Indore-Ujjain division on Friday.
Possibility of rain in these dists
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and light thunder with lightning in Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandsaur, Agar, Ratlam, Chhindwara, Damoh, Katni districts. There is a possibility of rain in Narsinghpur, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria and Dindori and yellow alert has been issued.
Heavy rain was recorded in Narsinghpur and Pachmarhi on Friday. Rain has been recorded in Khandwa, Sidhi, Betul, Damoh, Jabalpur, Guna, Narmadapuram, Tikamgarh, Satna, Naugaon, Khajuraho, Umaria, Rewa, Shivpuri, Ratlam, Bhopal, Sagar, Raisen, Gwalior, Indore, Mandla, Datia districts.
Dense fog engulfs Raisen
The weather has been cold in Raisen district for the last five days and dense fog along with severe cold has engulfed the entire district. Due to dense fog, drivers have to drive with headlights of their vehicles on.
Raisen Collector Arvind Kumar Dubey has changed the timings of schools in the district due to increasing cold. Keeping in view the health of the children, he has issued orders to change the timings of all government, non-government, CBSE and aided schools which are running in the first shift. Now all schools will operate from 9 am on Thursday and it will include classes from nursery to 12th.
