Shimla, Jan 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Government on Tuesday posted Director General of Himachal Pradesh Police Sanjay Kundu as Principal Secretary Ayush after December 26 order of Himachal Pradesh High court to move him from his incumbent post.
In a notification issued here on Tuesday the chief secretary Prabodh Saxena said decision to post DGP was also taken on the recommendations of the Civil Services Board.
Notification said posting of Sanjay Kundu, IPS (HP:1989), whose services have been placed at the disposal of the Department of Personnel, was posted as Principal Secretary (Ayush) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, relieving Dr.Amandeep Garg, IAS(HP:1999) of this additional charge, with immediate effect, in the public interest.
Himachal Pradesh High court had ordered on December 26 that on the allegations of influencing the probe of a criminals intimidation of a businessman, Director General of police Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Kundu and Superintendent of police Shalini Agnihotri should be posted on other posts in the interest of justice.
In a significant order passed by the division bench of Chief Justice MS Ramachandran Rao and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua on Tuesday directed the state secretary home or the respondent No.1 to take steps at the
earliest to move the present incumbents holding posts of both the Director General of Police, HP and respondent no.2(SP Kangra )to other posts.
Court posted the matter to January 4, 2024 directing the state that duo should be posted where they would not have any opportunity to influence the investigation in the FIRs referred to in this order.
