Mumbai, Mar 30 (UNI) Dr. Archana Patil, the daughter-in-law of former Lok Sabha speaker Shivraj Patil, joined the BJP on Saturday, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
She joined the party in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad, State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and several others.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Archana Patil’s entry will give more strength to the BJP in Marathwada. Rajeshwar Niture, who held the post of Udgir mayor for many years, also joined the BJP today.
Fadnavis said that the way Prime Minister Modi has been giving direction and speed to the development of the country for the last 10 years, Dr. Archana has decided to come from the social sector to the political sector and join the BJP. She will take on the rich legacy of senior Congress leader Shivraj Chakurkar, who was an honest and value-oriented politician, by working for the BJP.
Fadnavis said due to the entry of Archana Patil, BJP candidate Sudhakar Shrungare will win in Latur Lok Sabha constituency by a large margin.
Dr. Archana Patil said that today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is on a fast and extraordinary journey from developing to a developed country. Modiji upheld the dignity of women by passing the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill. After the passage of the Women’s Reservation Act, we decided to join the BJP, she added.
