Chennai, Apr 18 (UNI) The Principal Sessions Court has extended, till April 22, the judicial remand of senior DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji.
He was produced before the Principal Sessions Judge Ms.S.Alli via video-conferencing from the Puzhal Central prison where he was lodged last evening.
While extending his remand, the Judge allowed a petition filed by the former Minister to re-open his discharge petition on that day and directed the authorities to produce him before the court on that day.
Mr Senthilbalaji, who was arrested in June last year in a money laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate, had filed bail pleas before the Trial court, Madras High Court and it has been dismissed.
He also moved the Apex Court seeking bail on medical grounds, but was asked to withdraw his plea, while directing him to seek relief from the Trial court.
