An email has been received threatening to blast up Raja Bhoj Airport in the capital. The management received this mail at 9.30 am on Monday.
As soon as this message was received, the airport management alerted the security forces. Later, this email was forwarded to the local Gandhinagar police station. The police immediately informed the top officials about the entire incident and sent bomb and dog squads to investigate. In this case, the police have started an investigation by registering an AIR against an unknown person under sections of the Threatening and Aircraft Safety Act. Top police officials say that the email has been received by the airport management. In it, there was talk of planting bombs at many airports including Bhopal. This email was sent to more than 70 people. Along with the police, cyber crime police are also busy tracing the emails.
Gandhinagar police station in-charge Sunil Mehar said that Chief Security Officer of Raja Bhoj Airport Vishal Kumar Sharma had complained in the morning that a threatening email had been received on the official mail of his airport management. This mail was sent to more than 75 places including Bhopal. Chinese language is also written at one place in the email. An FIR was registered on this and an investigation was started. Cyber police officials say that the email has been sent by spoofing, due to which it takes time to find out the correct IP address information. With this technique, email senders hide their location. After receiving the threatening email, bomb and dog squad teams immediately reached the airport. Where an intensive investigation campaign was conducted in every part of the airport. People coming and going from outside were also examined. No suspicious object was found anywhere.
High alert at airport, security increased
On the other hand, after receiving a threatening email, the security of the airport has been increased. Before this, a meeting of the Airport Security Committee and Bomb Thread Committee was also held. CISF, police administration and airlines officials also participated in it. According to Airport Director Ramji Awasthi, it was decided to remain alert in the meeting. It is not yet known who has sent the email. The Police are investigating.
