Heavy rain at many places in state

Bhopal; With the onset of the monsoon in Madhya Pradesh, continuous rainfall persists. Currently, two strong storm systems are active in the region, leading to heavy rainfall across Madhya Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, this weather pattern is expected to continue in the upcoming days.

As a precautionary measure, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for more than a dozen districts, including Vidisha, Raisen, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari, for Thursday, where heavy rainfall is anticipated.

Heavy rainfall lashed Bhopal on Wednesday evening, turning the sky dark as rain clouds gathered. The torrential downpour led to significant water-logging in several low-lying areas, causing inconvenience to residents and commuters alike. Roads were flooded, making travel difficult and hazardous, with many vehicles struggling to navigate through the water-logged streets. The incessant rain, which began in the evening, continued with intermittent showers. On Thursday, the skies remained mainly cloudy although the rainfall subsided and only light intermittent showers and drizzle was recorded.

Monsoon will be active

The monsoon has now covered all districts in Madhya Pradesh, bringing varying levels of rainfall across the region. Meteorologists forecast that the monsoon will reach its peak in Madhya Pradesh over the next 15 days, with the likelihood of heavy rainfall in nearly all districts.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in the capital Bhopal, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, Mandla, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Shajapur, Agar Malwa, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kala, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore.
