Public Relations Officer Pooja Thapak committed suicide on Tuesday in Bhopal. She lived with her husband and in-laws in Saket Nagar A Sector. It is reported that before the incident, she had a quarrel with her husband over some issue. They were married two and a half years ago. They have a one-year-old son. The 33 years old deceased’s husband is an Assistant Director in the Technology Department. She was currently working as Minister Prahlad Patel’s Public Relations Officer.
Pooja Thapak, a Public Relations Officer living in Saket Nagar of Govindpura police station area, hanged herself at 10:30 am on Tuesday night. Initial investigation by the police has revealed that she had a quarrel with her husband over some issue. After that she went to her room. When she did not come out for a long time, her husband broke the door of the room and took her down from the noose and took her to AIIMS, where she died during treatment at around 11 pm. The police have registered a case and started investigating the matter. The police have not found any suicide note. On Wednesday, the post-mortem was conducted in the presence of the deceased’s maternal family.
Marriage took place two and a half years ago
Govindpura police station in-charge Awadhesh Singh Tomar said that Pooja Thapak was originally from Gwalior. She was married to Nikhil Dubey, who lives in Saket Nagar A Sector, about two and a half years ago. They also have a one-year-old son. Her husband is an Assistant Director in the Technology Department office located in Arera Hills. She lived with her husband and in-laws.
On Tuesday morning, there was a quarrel with the husband over something and after that Pooja locked herself in the room. When the husband got suspicious, he broke the door of the room. Inside the room, Pooja had hanged herself by making a noose of dupatta. The husband took Pooja down from the noose and took her to AIIMS. These days, Puja was working as the Public Relations Officer of Minister Prahlad Patel.
Postmortem conducted in presence of her parents
It has been only two and a half years since Puja Thapak got married. The police had informed her parents about the incident in Gwalior. After they came to Bhopal on Wednesday, the postmortem was done. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the relatives. ACP Govindpura will investigate the matter further.
