Guna: During the public hearing in the Collectorate premises regarding the suspicious death of Deva Pardi, a youth of Guna district, in police custody, women of Pardi community expressed their displeasure by becoming half naked and also demanded to register a case against the guilty police officers. The district administration has ordered the angry Pardi community to get the death of the youth investigated by a judicial officer.
It may be recalled that last month Guna police had detained Pardi youth Deva and his uncle for questioning in connection with the theft of 54 kg 300 grams of silver from a jeweler’s shop in Manohar Thana town of the neighboring state Rajasthan.
The youth died under suspicious circumstances on Monday. After the said incident, the youth’s would-be wife and aunt also attempted suicide by pouring petrol on themselves.
