Jerusalem, Aug 2 (UNI) Israel’s National Security Council has warned its citizens of possible attacks on Israeli targets abroad from Iran, Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah and Palestinian movement Hamas.
“Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas (alongside other terrorist factions) have declared their intention to take revenge for the death of Hamas’ political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, and of the head of Hezbollah’s strategic unit, Fuad Shukr (Sayyid Muhsan). It is possible that they will retaliate against Israeli/Jewish targets abroad, such as embassies, synagogues, Jewish community centers, etc.,” the agency said in a statement on Thursday.
The council also urged people to take increased precautions, remain vigilant in public places and try not to display signs of Israeli or Jewish identity. In addition, Israeli citizens abroad were advised to avoid large events, demonstrations and protests.
On Thursday, Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah said that the movement had entered a new phase of the war with Israel.
