Srinagar, Aug 17 (UNI) National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Saturday emphasized the importance of unity within the party and maintaining strong connections with the public to ensure the success of party candidates in the upcoming elections.
Omar chaired a meeting with the party functionaries at the party headquarters in Srinagar and the agenda included discussions on political affairs, organizational matters, issues faced by the public, and the upcoming assembly elections.
Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir – first after the special status of the esrtwhile state was scrapped in 2019 – would be held in three phases on beginning September 18. The votes will be counted on October 4.
NC spokesman said during the meeting, various topics were addressed and most importantly, the impending assembly elections.
During the meeting, Omar emphasized the importance of unity within the party and maintaining strong connections with the public to ensure the success of party candidates in the upcoming elections.
He stressed that the National Conference draws its strength from the collaboration and support of the people, making them the cornerstone of the party’s vision.
Omar Abdullah reiterated that the party’s ability to serve the public and represent the interests of all three regions hinges on its strength.
“Therefore, it is imperative to prioritize the party’s growth and work diligently towards achieving common goals. The National Conference remains committed to its founding principle of empowering the people and will continue to uphold this belief steadfastly,” he said.
