Ministers Jaishankar, Sitharaman, Goyal, Vaishnaw in Singapore for 3+3 talks

Singapore/New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who are in Singapore for the 3+3 talks, called on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and PM Lawrence Wong on Monday.

EAM said in a post on X that during the meeting they conveyed the greetings of President Murmu and PM Modi:

“Honored to jointly call on President @Tharman_S of Singapore. Conveyed the warm greetings of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister @narendramodi.

“Value his guidance on ways to further take forward the India-Singapore Strategic Partnership.”

“Delighted to call on Prime Minister @LawrenceWongST of Singapore today morning along with my colleagues @nsitharaman, @PiyushGoyal and @AshwiniVaishnaw. We conveyed the warm greetings of PM @narendramodi.

“Appreciate PM Wong’s continued engagement with the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable.”

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in a post on X said:

“Under PM @NarendraModi ji’s leadership, India is deeply committed to strengthening bilateral ties with Singapore and taking them to new heights through enhanced and strategic cooperation.”

“Our discussions aim to deepen the strong economic ties between our nations, driving growth and enhancing collaboration across key sectors.”

The India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable is a unique mechanism established to set a new agenda for India–Singapore bilateral relations. Its inaugural meeting was held in New Delhi in September 2022.

This meeting will enable both sides to review various aspects of their Strategic Partnership and identify new avenues to further elevate and broaden it, a statement said.
