Srinagar, Sep 25 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday during an election rally held at Sopore lashes out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi government for allegedly helping 10 to 15 multi-milliners of the country.
“The Narendra Modi government is working for 10-15 multi-milliners of the country”, Gandhi said while addressing an election campaign rally ahead of the third phase of elections, for his party candidate Abdul Rashid Dar who is contesting from Sopore in north Kashmir.
Gandhi said that Airports, Ports, infrastructure and other things have been given to two to three people who are doing the marketing.
BJP did the rupee denomination and implemented the wrong GST that had a very bad effect on the small businessmen including the Apple sellers in Kashmir.
“What much a poor man paying GST similar to that is also being paid by the business tycoon Adani. If you pay 18 percent GST for a shirt, a similar price is being paid by Adani”, Gandhi said.
Gandhi said that the central government in Delhi is working for two-three multi-millionaires.
He said the loans of the multi-millionaire people are being waived off. Loans of Rs 16 Lakh crore have been waved off of the 20-25 millionaire’s of the country. But the loans of farmers, labourers, small businessmen and college students are never being waved off.
Today the situation is that youths of the nation are not getting jobs including in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said banks are not providing loans to the small and middle-class entrepreneurs and the whole system is helping 10 to 15 multi-millionaires of the country.
The government in Delhi is for a few multi-millionaires.
Gandhi said that for the first time in the history a state has been turned into a Union Territory.
So many UT’s were made states and even states were divided into two states. Telangana was carved from Andhra Pradesh, Jaharkhand from Bihar and Chhattisgarh from Madhya Pradesh. But for the first time in history a state (J&K) was turned into Union Territory. “It is a shameful incident that has never taken place in India”, he said.
Lieutenant Governor and bureaucrats from the outside are running the affairs of the UT.
“I wish the statehood should have been restored first before the holding of elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The people of Jammu and Kashmir were also in favour of statehood first before the elections”, Gandhi emphasized.
Jammu and Kashmir must get Statehood after elections, Ghandi asserted and added “If Narendra Modi government failed to provide statehood INDIA alliance will pressure them in the parliament to provide statehood to Jammu and Kashmir”.
“If they (BJP) failed to provide the statehood, as soon as the INDIA alliance will form the government at the centre will provide the statehood”, Gandhi assured.
“Where ever Modi goes spreading quarrel between the two brothers, one religion to another, one language to another language one cast with the other..the hatred is their (BJPs) scared thoughts and they have spread it in the whole country”, Gandhi said adding “I started on foot 4000 km Bharat Jado Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to spread a message of brotherhood, peace in the country where everybody should be respected” .
“I told them (BJP) if they are opening ‘Nafrat ki dukaan” we will open ‘Muhabat Ki dukaan’. If you will spread hatred, we will spread love…as much hatred they spread double than we spread our love among the people”, he asserted.
He said in Kashmir BJP talked of Hi-technology and installed the smart electric meters. Congress will remove all these meters first when they will come to power.
Gandhi promised Orchardists at Sopore the Congress will pay Rs 72 per kg as minimum support price of Apple if they came to power besides full crop insurance and Rs 2500 Crore for irrigation and a food processing unit.
The Apple of Sopore will be exported to foreign countries. People in our nation are eating American apples these days. I wish the people of America would eat apples from Sopore, Gandhi said.
Gandhi said the orchardists are not getting the right price of Apple in Sopore and Himachal Pradesh because of business tycoon Adani.
