Govt respects Telangana film industry significantly: Dy CM

Hyderabad, Oct 14 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu stated that the state government holds the Telangana film industry in high regard.

He made these remarks during the inaugural meeting of the Gaddar Cine Awards Committee held at the Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat on Monday.

Mallu emphasized that the Telangana film industry should aspire to achieve prominence not only within the country but also on a global scale.

He noted that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is eager to address and resolve any issues faced by the film industry. “The Nandi Awards are organized through festivals. Why did the previous government neglect this issue after the state’s bifurcation?” he questioned, reiterating that Telangana represents a rich cultural life, filled with dance and songs.

“We envision a culture that embraces everyone and fosters love within our state,” he added, highlighting the people’s struggle for a separate state in the face of inequalities and challenges.

The Deputy Chief Minister praised Gaddar as a cultural icon, referring to him as a “people’s battleship” who has guided society towards achieving Telangana state. “Gaddar is a legend; such a person may not emerge again for a century. He has moved people with his songs addressing global issues,” he remarked.

Mallu further noted that Gaddar has significantly contributed to popularizing Telangana’s dance and songs. “In every village in Telangana, people try to emulate Gaddar,” he said, emphasizing his impact on cinema, society, and the Indian Constitution. Gaddar believed that the Indian Constitution was the key to resolving the country’s problems and actively promoted it.

During the meeting, it was explained to the committee members that the state government has decided to establish film awards in Gaddar’s name after considering various aspects. “The Gaddar Awards can be presented across all fields, similar to other awards,” he stated, insisting that every individual in the film industry should be respected and that the government aims to make every award prestigious.

The Deputy Chief Minister urged the committee to plan the Gaddar Awards program as a grand festival and to determine a suitable date for the event. He reiterated the state’s recognition of Gaddar as a beloved figure. Mallu requested the committee members to reconvene soon to expedite their decisions.
