Student’s body recovered from hostel room

  • Suspected to have died of heart attack

Piplani police has recovered the body of a B.Tech student from a hostel room in Sonagiri. He was not going to the mess for meals for two days. Police have registered a case and after conducting postmortem, handed over the body to the family.

The cause of death will be revealed after the postmortem report. According to the police, Dharamraj (24), originally a resident of Bihar, lived in GP Boys Hostel in Sonagiri and was studying B.Tech fourth year in a private college. His room was the last one. Dharamraj had not come to the mess for meals for two days.

On Friday evening, when caretaker Akash went to see him, Dharamraj was found lying dead on the bed. Initial estimate is that he might have died due to heart attack.

2 lakhs were extorted at gunpoint

Four boys kidnapped an auto driver in the Aishbagh area and extorted 2 lakh rupees by pointing a pistol at his temple. Two days after the incident, the complainant went to the police station and registered a case against the accused. The police is trying to arrest the accused. According to the information, Shivshankar Dubey (45), a resident of Laxmipuri Hinautia, drives an auto. On the night of 16 October, at around 10:30 pm, he had reached near Sonia Colony culvert to get a tube installed in his vehicle. After getting the tube installed, he was drinking tea when four boys riding two scooters and a bike approached him. They took someone’s name and said that they were calling him. Shivshankar told that he did not know that person, but the four forcibly made him sit in their vehicle and took him to the Dhobi Ghat in Bajariya. There, they started extorting 2 lakh rupees by pointing a pistol at his temple. The next day he informed his wife about the incident. After that, he went to the police station on Friday and registered a report of the incident.

Bullet rider succumbs

A youth died during treatment after jumping from a bullet bike on a breaker in Shahpura area. The police registered a case and after conducting the post-mortem, handed over the body to the family. According to the police, Mohit Joshi, son Basant Joshi (34), lived in Rohit Nagar Shahpura and was working from home in a private company. He was returning home on his bullet bike at around 10:30 pm on the night of October 15. His bike suddenly went out of control at the speed breaker on the road at Shweta Complex in Seway Market, due to which he jumped and fell on the road along with the Bullet. Mohit suffered serious head and body injuries. Mohit was the only son of the family. He got married only two years ago.

Many caught consuming liquor in public places

With the ahatas being closed, the police have started tightening grip on those consuming liquor and drugs in public places. During the last 24 hours, about one and a half dozen people consuming alcohol and ganja in public places have been caught. Cases have been registered against all the accused under Excise and NDPS Act. According to the information, on Saturday late evening, Ratibad police received information that two youths were consuming ganja near village Kalkheda Ratibad. The police team patrolling the area reached the spot with witnesses. On seeing the police, both the youths tried to run away, but were surrounded and caught. During interrogation, they revealed their names as Durgesh Pandey and Sandeep Kaul. Police seized ganja smoking chillum and lighter and other items from them.

Police raid gambling den

Bilkheria police raided a gambling den and confiscated 17 thousand four hundred rupees and playing cards from the gamblers. Gamblers have also been caught from many other places. According to the police, information was received from an informer that some people were gambling on playing cards in Bilkheria near Laxmipati College. Farmer dies after falling into well

A farmer living in a vegetable farm in Shahpura died after falling into a well. It is estimated that the accident might have happened due to losing balance near the well without parapet. The police registered a case and after conducting the postmortem, handed over the body to the family. According to the information, Munnalal Mali (55) lived in the vegetable farm Shahpura and did farming. On Saturday morning, he plucked flowers from the field and returned after selling them in the market. After that, he left saying that he was going to the field. When his wife reached the field with food in the afternoon, Munnalal was not seen. When she reached near the well without parapet, Munnalal was seen fallen inside.

Elderly woman found dead

Nishatpura police has recovered the body of an elderly woman from a closed room in Goya Colony. Registering a case, the body has been sent for postmortem. According to the police, Lalita Dubey (85) lived with her younger son Arun and daughter-in-law in Goya Colony. Her husband was in the police department, who passed away a few years ago. Lalita’s eldest son Anil is a sub-inspector in Indore, while the middle son Ajay has passed away.

On Saturday morning, Anil called his younger brother Arun to know about his mother’s condition, and he told that he had come out with the family. After that, he sent an acquaintance to the house. When the acquaintance reached, the door was bolted from outside. When he went inside, Lalita was lying dead. After that, Anil reached Bhopal. Due to old age, Lalita was unable to walk at all.
