Srinagar, Nov 6 (UNI) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that the Assembly has done its work after passing the resolution on the restoration of Article 370 to Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passed the resolution for the restoration of J&K special status by voice vote in the house.
“The Assembly has done its job”, Omar told the media after the resolution was passed in the assembly.
The Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary said that the resolution was not passed into the house hurriedly. It was in the manifesto of the National Conference party.
He said either the party contested the election in Jammu or Kashmir this was the main issue of our party manifesto.
“We have strengthen the constitution and the democracy of the India by passing the resolution on restoration of special status to Jammu and Kashmir”, Choudhary said adding “We want to remember Prime Minister and Home Minister that the promises they have made for safeguarding our lands, jobs and the status of the state should be restored.”
He said, “If centre is running its government with a promise made to Bihar for special status and Chandra Babu Naidu of Tamil Nadu and has granted it to our neighbouring state Himachal Pradesh..what the wrong we did by moving the resolution in the assembly”.
“There is no politics in. we are just seeking our democratic right under the jurisdiction of the constitution of India”, the Deputy CM said.
