Bhopal: Deepak Joshi, who had resigned from BJP after not getting ticket in the last assembly elections and joined Congress, has returned home. On Saturday, he joined BJP again in front of Union Minister of Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Nandner of Budhni. Joshi had left BJP and joined Congress a year ago, in the meantime he had tried to return to BJP once before the Lok Sabha elections, but this campaign could not succeed.

Union Minister Chouhan is continuously holding election meetings in the area for BJP candidate Ramakant Bhargav in the Budhni assembly by-election. The by-election is being held here due to Chauhan’s resignation from the assembly membership. During the campaign for the by-election, Joshi took the membership of BJP in an election meeting itself. Chouhan welcomed Joshi by hugging him. Deepak Joshi is the son of former Chief Minister late Kailash Joshi. When he did not get a BJP ticket in the last assembly elections, he joined the Congress. Congress also welcomed him with open arms and made him the Congress candidate from Khategaon assembly, but he lost to BJP candidate Ashish Sharma by more than 12 thousand votes.

Became disillusioned with Cong

After losing the election, he became disillusioned with the Congress within 6 months and before the Lok Sabha elections, he tried to return to the BJP, but the matter was postponed due to opposition to his return. The condition for returning to the BJP was allegedly an apology from some leaders, on which Joshi accepted to apologize to the party, but clearly refused to go to any leader’s house and apologize. Joshi was also active in Budhni during the by-election.

Four days ago on November 3, he held a formal election meeting in favor of the Congress candidate, but now Joshi will be seen seeking votes for the BJP candidate instead of the Congress candidate. This will also be a rare occasion that a leader who was seeking support for another party in the by-election a few days ago will now campaign in favor of a candidate of another party.
