India, land of Sanatan and Kashi its centre: VP Dhankhar

Varanasi, Nov 15 (UNI) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday said that India is the land of Sanatan and Kashi is its center.

After inaugurating the world’s largest and most beautiful ghat ‘Namo Ghat’ here in Varanasi, the VP said, “Sanatan Dharma accommodates everyone and has also accommodated invaders. It teaches us unity and perseverance.”

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were present on this occasion.

During the programme, Dhankar praised UP CM Yogi and said, “Yogi ji is moving towards making UP an enterprise state and making it the supreme state with his dedication and devotion.”

He said that the way Prime Minister Modi is dedicated to conservation, creation, visionary and commendable development, Yogi Adityanath is doing the same work in UP as an ascetic.

At the same time, he praised Governor Anandi Ben Patel and said, “I have benefited from her guidance on many occasions.”

The VP described the inauguration of Namo Ghat as a moment of good fortune for him. He said that it is a great honour for him to inaugurate the world’s largest ghat. “When CM Yogi said that where else apart from India are there ghats, it strengthened my point. Kashi is the city of salvation and the traditions here are continuously burning,” he said.

He also emphasised that the coincidence of the inauguration day is very special. He said that today is the 555th Prakash Parv of the first Guru of Sikhism, Shri Guru Nanak Dev.

Along with this, he also remembered the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda and praised the glorious heritage of the tribal community. He said that India is moving towards development at a rapid pace and the target has been set to become a developed nation by 2047.

He said that every Indian will have to contribute to this big yagna. The VP emphasised the need to preserve the cultural heritage of India. He said that our sages have repeatedly reminded us that our cultural roots are the basis of our present and future.

Dhankar said, “It is the responsibility of all of us to preserve it.”

He also emphasised the spirit of Swadeshi in his address. He said that Swadeshi Deep is a unique combination of soil, oil and cotton of the country. “We should keep the Swadeshi spirit in mind even in global trade,” he said.

Emphasizing on social harmony, the VP said that India is the foundation of social harmony. “There can be differences of opinion, but differences of opinion should be kept to a minimum. Cordial dialogue, taking care of the neighbourhood is the special thing about festivals,” he said.

He said that this traditional festival of Dev Deepawali allows every section of the society to come together. “It reflects the picture of changing India and this historic moment is very important for me,” he said.

He said that with the inauguration of Namo Ghat, Varanasi has once again presented its cultural and historical heritage to the world with pride.

On this occasion, Vice President’s wife Sudesh Dhankhar, State Minister of Stamp and Registration (Independent Charge) Ravindra Jaiswal, MLA Dr Neelkanth Tiwari, Saurabh Srivastava, Mayor Ashok Tiwari, MLC Dharmendra, Hansraj Vishwakarma, District Panchayat President Poonam Maurya, Sunil Patel and other dignitaries were present.
