Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that sports infrastructure is continuously developing in the state. The players of the state are not far away from receiving Vikram Award and other awards in Asiad and Olympics.
With the gift of synthetic athletic track being given to Dewas on the birth anniversary of Shrimant Tukojirao Pawar, players will get more opportunities to hone their talent. Efforts will continue to expand sports facilities in Dewas. CM was addressing the Bhoomi Pujan programme of the synthetic athletic track at Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium, Dewas virtually from New Delhi.
Gym equipment will also be provided
The Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium of Dewas is spread across 10.00 acres of land. The stadium has 4 synthetic courts for badminton, 2 courts for basketball, a 25-meter swimming pool, an open gym, and softball and chess games, besides imparting training for women’s self-defense. A synthetic athletic track is being set up in the stadium by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department for the athletic players at a cost of Rs 9 crore 18 lakh in which 400 meter synthetic athletic track and 8 lane facility will be available. Gym equipment worth Rs 26 lakh will also be provided for the fitness of the players.
Malwa is rich in diverse characteristics
CM Dr. Yadav said that the area is being developed as a mega metropolis by connecting Dewas, Ujjain Dhar and Indore. The government is working rapidly for industrialization. In the changing times, this sector will have a unique identity in the country. CM said that Dewas is blessed by two goddesses, Maa Tulja Bhavani and Chamunda Mata, and the area is also blessed by Kaila Devi. Malwa abounds in diverse characteristics. The presence of Pt. Kumar Gandharva and the bank note press make Dewas unique.
114 sports infra built in state, 30 under construction
Notably, 114 sports infrastructure (stadiums/sports complexes/indoor halls) have been constructed by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department in Madhya Pradesh, and 30 sports infrastructures are under construction.
