Sensex falls 105.79 pts

Mumbai, Nov 26 (UNI) Snapping a gaining streak of last two sessions, the BSE Sensex slipped 105.79 pts to settle at 80,004.06 as selling was seen in Power, Utilities, Auto and BSE services amid weak global cues.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 27.40 pts at 24,194.50.

The market remained volatile on Tuesday, as the Sensex opened strong at 80,415.47, up 306 pts. During the day it was rallied 373 pts at 80,482.36, days high, before closing at 80,004.06, sliding 105.79 pts from its previous close.

Meanwhile, it was tanked 311 pts at 79,798.67, days low.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 24,343.30 pts and by 24,125.40 pts respectively.

The stocks that fell were Utilities by 1.77 pc, Power by 1.55 pc, Auto by 1.26 pc and BSE services by 0.64 pc.

The Mid cap rose 0.10 pc and Small cap by 0.62 pc.

In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined.

The losers were Ultracemco by 3.07 pc to Rs 11105, Adani Ports by 3 pc to Rs 1131.45, Sun Pharma by 2.21 pc to Rs 1764.75 and NTPC by 1.80 pc to Rs 362.

The gainers were Asian paints by 1.76 pc to Rs 2504, Infosys by 1.68 pc to Rs 1920.85, JSW Steel by 0.91 pc to Rs 962 and TCS by 0.77 pc to Rs 4348.25.

The Asian market was also seen weak as Strait Times slipped by 0.51 pc, Taiwan Weighted by 1.19 pc and Kospi by 0.55 pc.
