Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday crashed 1190.34 pts to close at 79,043.74 on heavy Foreign Institutional Investors FIIs selling, strong USD and geopolitical triggers amid weak global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 360.75 pts at 23,914.15.
The Sensex opened steady at 80,234. It was further gained 212 pts at 80,447.40, days high.
Later, it was nosedived 1316 pts at 78,918.92, days low, before closing at 79,043.74, slumping 1190.34 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 24,345.75 pts and by 23,873.35 pts respectively.
The stocks that dragged the market were IT by 2.35 pc, Technology by 2.12 pc and Consumer Durable by 1.20 pc.
The Mid cap fell by 0.06 pc while Small cap rose by 0.41 pc.
In 30 scrips, 1 advanced while 29 declined.
The losers were M & M by 3.36 pc to Rs 2903.35, Infosys by 3.28 pc to Rs 1861.05, HCL Technology by 2.45 pc to Rs 1843.80, Adani Ports by 2.43 pc to Rs 1170.60 and Bajaj Finance by 2.41 pc to Rs 6542.50.
Sole, SBI was up by 0.80 pc to Rs 840.90.
