- Grand Gathering of Faith: Jamaats from over 20 countries arrive
Bhopal: The 77th Aalmi Tablighi Ijtema, also known as the Bhopal Tablighi Ijtema, commenced today at Ghasipura in Eentkhedi, about 14 km from Bhopal. This year, the event has drawn Jamaats from 22 countries, including India, and an estimated 12 lakh attendees are expected to participate. The four-day religious congregation will include daily discourses and culminate with the special prayer, Dua-e-Khas, on the final day.
Mass Weddings Mark the First Day
On the first day of the Ijtema, Friday, a mass wedding ceremony took place after 4:30 pm, where 350 couples were married. Among them, 130 couples were from Bhopal. This traditional event emphasizes simplicity and community, showcasing the spirit of unity and brotherhood that defines the Ijtema.
Lectures and Spiritual Discourses
During the Ijtema, participants will be treated to four discourses each day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On the final day, Monday, two concluding discourses will be delivered before the gathering concludes with the solemn and heartfelt Dua-e-Khas. These discourses aim to inspire and guide attendees on various aspects of faith, community service, and spirituality.
Global Participation
Jamaats from across India and 21 other countries have converged at the event. By Thursday night, participants from different Indian states such as Rajasthan, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu had arrived. International delegates have also made their way to the venue, adding a global dimension to this significant gathering of faith.
Traffic and Venue Management
To ensure smooth traffic flow and participant safety, special arrangements have been made. Starting from 7 am on November 29, heavy vehicles, including cargo trucks, dumpers, and mixers, will be restricted from the Gola Jod Bairasia Road to Karound Square. Vehicles arriving from Vidisha will be directed to designated parking areas via Lambakheda Bypass Square.
This year’s Ijtema is being held over a vast 600-acre expanse. To manage the massive influx of people, 45,000 volunteers have been deployed. Parking arrangements have been made over 300 acres, ensuring sufficient space for the large number of vehicles. Additionally, 45 garbage collection vehicles will make multiple rounds daily to maintain cleanliness.
Four entry and exit gates have been established to streamline the movement of people and Jamaats, with welcome teams stationed at each gate to register attendees. The venue also features essential amenities such as washrooms and toilets spread across 80 acres and 500 charging points for electronic devices.
