AIIMS physiology team participates in APPICon 2024

Bhopal: Under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, the institute has made significant strides in the fields of research and medicine. In this regard, The Department of Physiology took a leading role at APPICon 2024, organized by ESIC Medical College, Chennai on 10th December, 2024, by conducting a pre-conference workshop titled “Holistic Healthcare with an Integrative Approach.”

The workshop featured renowned medical professionals and emphasized innovative strategies in integrative and physiological medicine, offering valuable insights into the future of holistic patient care. Prof. Singh remarked on the significance of this event, saying, “This event highlights the growing recognition of integrative medicine as a vital tool in addressing chronic diseases and promoting overall well-being. It is imperative that we harness the potential of multidisciplinary approaches, combining modern medicine with traditional practices, to create a sustainable healthcare model for the future.”

Dr. Rachna Parashar, Professor of Physiology at AIIMS Bhopal, highlighted successful integrative healthcare models from across India and shared the ongoing success of AIIMS Bhopal’s Integrative Medicine Clinic, which has served over 2,500 patients since its inauguration in January 2023. Dr. Ragini Shrivastava, Additional Professor in the Department of Physiology, focused on the role of integrative approaches in chronic disease management. She shared insights into the clinical efficacy of Yoga practices, such as Kunjal Kriya and Kati Snana therapy in managing PCOS.
