WPL 2025 Auction: GG buys Dottin for Rs 1.70 crore

Bengaluru, Dec 15 (UNI) The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 mini-auction delivered exciting developments as Deandra Dottin from West Indies became the top pick, going to the Gujarat Giants for ₹1.70 crore.

Known for her explosive all-rounder capabilities, Dottin recently returned to international cricket and has been in exceptional form. During the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, she registered the most four-wicket hauls in tournament history, with a standout 4/22 performance against New Zealand.

Her all-round display in the competition also included 82 runs at a strike rate of 167.3 and an economy rate of just 5.4 across bowling spells.

Despite Dottin’s success, the auction saw major Indian names like Sneh Rana and Poonam Yadav remain unsold in the initial rounds.

The auction features 120 players vying for slots in five teams, with franchises like Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, and UP Warriorz also looking to make strategic additions.
