Vice President opens country’s first Geo Science Museum

Bhopal: Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the country’s first Geo Science Museum (Bhoo-Vigyan Sangrahalaya) in Gwalior on Sunday. Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Communications and North Eastern Region Development Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Gwalior District In-charge and Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat and MP Shri Bharat Singh Kushwaha were also present on the occasion of the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Geo Science Museum set up in the Heritage Building Victoria Market at the historic Maharaj Bada of Gwalior.

Dhankhar also congratulated and wished the people of Gwalior for this unique gift. Along with all the guests, he saw the pictures, artifacts and information related to geology displayed in various galleries of the museum and praised the museum.

After the inauguration of the museum, Vice President Dhankhar also saw the historical buildings standing as excellent examples of architecture located at Maharaj Bada. CM, Scindia and Assembly Speaker Tomar informed the Vice President about the craftsmanship and styles of the buildings of Maharaj Bada.

Dinosaur’s egg can also be seen in the museum

This country’s first ultra-modern and amazing Geo Science Museum, prepared by the National Science Museum Council in collaboration with Gwalior Municipal Corporation, contains unique information related to the origin of the Earth, development of mankind and human civilization and the universe. Precious objects including dinosaur’s egg are available for tourists to see in the museum. This museum provides solutions to the curiosities of children and adults related to geology. Also, this museum is informative from a scientific point of view. Rare geological specimens related to earth science have been displayed in the museum through multimedia display.

Information about the origin and evolution of Earth

Information about geology has been presented in an attractive manner with light effects through two galleries in the Geo Science Museum. One gallery depicts the evolution of the earth, which mentions how the earth came into its original form and what things made up the earth. What does the earth look like today? How lava is formed inside the earth and how mountains are formed by volcanic eruptions. All this information has been displayed in a very good manner in the museum.

Tourists will also be able to experience earthquake

Tourists coming here will also be able to experience an earthquake. Apart from this, there is also a description about the atmosphere and the ocean. All this has been displayed very well with light effects and state-of-the-art mechanical technology.

Story of development of human civilization

The development of mankind and human civilization has been displayed very well in the second gallery of the Geo Science Museum. It also shows the origin and extinction of dinosaurs on earth. Also, how humans originated and how their life cycle progressed. This description of the changes in the lifestyle of human civilization is also worth seeing.

The Director General of Geological Survey of India, Mr. Asit Saha, Divisional Commissioner Mr. Manoj Khatri, Inspector General of Police Mr. Arvind Saxena, Collector Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan, Superintendent of Police Mr. Dharamveer Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Aman Vaishnav and officials of Geological Survey of India were also present in the inauguration program of Geo Science Museum.
