Mumbai, Dec 17 (UNI) The equity market remained under pressure on Tuesday too, as the BSE Sensex tanked 492 pts at 81,255.72 in the opening session as selling was seen in Telecommunications, Auto and Bankex stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) dipped 210.75 at 24,457.50.
The Sensex registered an intraday high at 81,613.64 and a low at 81,208.61 pts.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 24,624.10 pts and 24,454.10 pts respectively.
The Mid cap rose 0.16 pc and Small cap by 0.11 pc.
In 30 scrips, 4 advanced while 26 declined.
The losers were Bajaj Finserv by 1.87 pc to Rs 1641.30, Bharti Airtel by 1.47 pc to Rs 1637.95, Nestle India Ltd 1.11 pc to Rs 2218, and Reliance Industries by 1.08 pc to Rs 1254.30.
The gainers were Adani Ports by 0.61 pc to Rs 1250.40, Tech Mahindra by 0.57 pc to Rs 1786.75, Tata Motors by 0.47 pc to Rs 788.40, and HCL Technology by 0.19 pc to Rs 1957.45.
