- Make an action plan together with experts
Bhopal: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that a committee of agricultural experts and departmental officers should be formed and an action plan be made to encourage the production of coarse grains i.e. millets in the state as intended by PM Narendra Modi. Farmer representatives should also be compulsorily included in the committee. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave these instructions during the review meeting of the Agriculture Department on Sunday at Samatva Bhawan, Chief Minister’s residence.
Farmers’ income will increase
CM Dr. Yadav said that producing coarse grains will reduce the cost of harvesting crops and increase farmers’ income. The initiative will help improve the socio-economic status of farmers and establish farming as a profitable business.
CM said that farmers should also be motivated to increase the production of oilseeds and pulses in the state. For this, farmers should be guided about new agricultural techniques, improved seeds, appropriate fertilizers, and pesticides. Information was given in the meeting that the area covered under paddy in the state is 36 lakh 33 thousand hectares and 7 lakh 76 thousand farmers are registered for procurement.
