London, Jan 13 (UNI) As the flames of Los Angeles continue to engulf the birthplace of Meghan Markle, the wife of Britain’s prince Harry, she has decided to reschedule the release date of her Netflix debut “With Love, Meghan”.
The series, originally slated for a January 15 debut, will now be launched on March 4. The decision was made in collaboration with Netflix.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Markle said in a statement on Sunday.
Meghan considers California as close to her heart, as she was born and raised in Los Angeles. She now resides in Montecito with her husband, Prince Harry and their children, Archie, 5 and Lilibet, 3. Her project, which celebrates the beauty and spirit of Southern California, is an ode to her roots and her enduring bond with the region, according to a report by PEOPLE.
Meanwhile, as the flame continues to devour the city, the couple has opened their Montecito home to friends and loved ones forced to evacuate. Through their Archewell Foundation, Meghan and Harry are actively involved in relief efforts, working to identify meaningful ways to support the affected community.
On Jan. 10, Meghan and Harry visited the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena to help distribute food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire. They personally engaged with THE affected families and expressed their gratitude to the firefighters and first responders for their tireless efforts.
They worked together with Jennifer Siebel Newsom, California’s First Partner, and Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo. Later, they met World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés at the food stations to commend the relief teams. Through their foundation, they’ve made financial contributions and are focusing on long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts, with plans for future visits.
In a heartfelt message on their Archewell website, the Duke and Duchess urged the public to contribute to relief efforts, “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life.”
The couple encouraged donations of necessity items such as “clothing, children’s toys and clothing and other essentials, while linking to organisations like the American Red Cross for additional resources.
On the work front, the Netflix debut “With Love, Meghan” has been shot in Montecito, a lifestyle series blending practical how-to advice with candid conversations.
“I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it,” she says in a promo of the show. “Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them”, Meghan says in the show’s promotion teaser.
