Following heightened security around Republic Day, the general public will once again be allowed to enter Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal, starting today, January 31, after an 11-day suspension. This temporary restriction was put in place from January 20 at the request of the CISF, as part of the capital’s airport security preparations for the national celebration.
With the airport now operating 24/7 and an increase in the number of security personnel, the scope of passenger and baggage checks has been significantly expanded. Additionally, the CISF has appointed a new commandant, further bolstering security measures.
To ensure no untoward incidents occur, the airport authorities have been conducting meticulous checks on both passengers and their luggage. Even external staff working at food stalls and other service points at the airport are being thoroughly screened before being allowed entry. More than 80 officers and employees have been strictly instructed to keep their identification passes visible at all times while on duty.
With the security measures now firmly in place, visitors can look forward to once again entering the airport to meet their loved ones, although the heightened vigilance will continue as a priority. The CISF has also been tasked with assisting in maintaining the robust security at the airport.
